Piano soloist bio -
Minnesota native Austin Frohmader is a 23 year old pianist and composer. A recent recipient of his Bachelor of Music in Composition at Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, he studied composition with Dr. Marcus Maroney and piano with Nancy Weems. Prior to university, his primary piano teacher was Dr. Joseph Zins in St. Paul, MN. He is a 2012 graduate of Blaine High School, where he played violin in the orchestras, which premiered two of his compositions.

Austin has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Moores School Symphony Orchestra at the University of Houston, the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra, and the Mississippi Valley Orchestra. In 2011, he was one of four students selected to participate in the Schubert Club Composer Mentorship Program under the guidance of artist-in-residence, Edie Hill. Austin has been chosen for masterclasses with artists John Corigliano, Alessio Bax, Christopher O’Riley, Arie Vardi, and others.
